Psychological counselling
What our sessions are about
We focus on what matters to you. That might mean easing the pressure, finding a better way through a difficult situation, understanding why it keeps happening, or looking after your mental health for the long term.
Topics might include:
- Stress and exhaustion
- Crises and difficult times
- Life abroad
- Relationships and conflict
- Work and responsibility
- Parenthood
- Self-doubt and inner pressure
- Decisions you can’t seem to make

Working together
In good hands from the start
How often and for how long we work together depends on you and what you’d like to work on. The work continues between sessions too: after each session, I usually send you an email with the key points and, where it fits, an exercise or questions to reflect on.
- Initial consultationabout 25 minutes, free
- Sessions45 minutes, by video
- Follow-upemail after each session

Podcast · Perfectly Human
How we understand and shape our relationships
In my podcast Perfectly Human, each episode takes a situation many of us know from relationships, family, friendship or work, and explores from a psychological perspective why it happens and where change can begin. The episodes are in German.
If you understand German, you’re very welcome to listen in. It’s also a good way to get a first impression of me and of how I approach psychological questions.
Psychologist, doctorate in psychology
Ninia Simon
What motivates me is seeing what changes when people understand what’s going on inside them. In our conversations, I combine psychological expertise with an empathetic, non-judgemental stance: I listen closely, including to what lies between the lines, and see the whole person, with their relationships and surroundings.
My doctorate in psychology focused on communication and social interaction. At the German Aerospace Center (DLR), I spent several years conducting psychological interviews with pilots and flight engineers and led a research project on social interaction in teams.
Many of the people I work with live abroad. Having spent many years abroad myself, I know how much shifts when you build a life in another country.

I’m Dr Ninia Simon, a psychologist with a doctorate in psychology. I offer one-to-one counselling by video, in English and German, for adults looking for relief, clarity and next steps in a difficult situation. The initial consultation is free of charge. When you book, you’ll receive an immediate confirmation and a personal reply within 24 hours.
What clients say
I felt in good hands from the very beginning and was able to open up. The sessions were very productive for me.
I came with one specific concern and was amazed at how much more the process set in motion. I really did not expect that.
I read the emails after our sessions again and again. They give me direction, something to hold on to and something to keep working on between sessions.
I simply feel at ease here.
